A short – circuit occurs when there’s a direct connection between the live wires in an electrical circuit, bypassing the normal load. This can cause an extremely high current to flow through the circuit in a very short time, which can damage the electrical components and even lead to an explosion or fire.

The response time of a circuit breaker for a short – circuit can be as fast as a few milliseconds, which can effectively prevent serious damage to the crane.
